As we work to fully re-open our physical campus for Fall 2021, we are working in a rapidly changing environment. As you plan to return to or visit campus, please consider these guidelines. You are also expected to comply with safe on-campus behavior.
One-time visitors to our campus who will attend in-person events or activities must comply with the following safety requirements:
- You must have a UMBC faculty or staff sponsor who will be responsible for seeking access approval and coordinating your visit. Your sponsor must limit your access to campus to the location of your in-person event. This includes individuals with tickets to campus events.
- Inform your sponsor if your visit falls within 10 days of any positive test or symptoms. Please do not come to campus in either of these situations.
- Face coverings or masks are required to be worn in buildings. Masks are not required outdoors unless you are participating in an activity or event that requires them.
Visiting campus regularly to teach, work, or study
The University System of Maryland and UMBC are requiring a COVID-19 vaccination for all students, faculty, and staff who are on a Maryland campus.
For UMBC, this includes all UMBC operated property, including but not limited to UMBC’s campus, the Columbus Center, the Lions Brothers Building, Choice satellite offices, and bwtech@UMBC North and South. This also includes UMBC students, faculty, and staff at the Universities at Shady Grove.
Community members wishing to hold an event on campus should reach out to Event and Conference Services to understand space limitations and safety requirements.
