Summer 2021 Campus Access Requirements

All faculty and staff are approved for campus access as of July 6 and should follow the health and safety instructions provided to them. For students, please follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your myUMBC profile and check your COVID-19 compliance card to confirm that your vaccine, or exemption, is submitted and verified. If it is not, please follow the instructions to confirm your vaccine;
  2. Individuals in Group 1 have completed their requirements;
  3. If you are in Group 2, you will need to:
    1. Complete daily online symptom tracking throughout the semester; AND
    2. test according to the schedule provided to you.
Routine COVID-19 Testing

If you are approved to be on campus for the summer, you will be assigned a testing group and testing schedule. Your group will be listed on your COVID-19 compliance card in your myUMBC profile.

In addition, we are strongly encouraging community members to complete an opt-in for the Chesapeake Regional Information System for our Patients (CRISP) system. CRISP is Maryland’s regional health information exchange that collects and shares COVID-19 vaccine information and test results with clinicians and other approved users. This collaboration, though not required, allows UMBC to receive results from other participating providers automatically, and will drastically reduce your need to upload external test results. Please help the safety and efficiency of our campus community by one-time opting-in to CRISP today!

Daily Online Symptom Tracking

All faculty, staff, and students who are approved to be on campus are required to complete UMBC’s daily online symptom tracker every day, seven-days-a-week throughout the semester. More information is available on the Symptom Tracking page.

Health and Safety Training

All faculty and staff are required to complete the Return to Campus COVID Awareness course and students are required to complete the Return to Campus COVID Awareness Training for Students and sign the Retriever Community Agreement. More information is available on the Training and Code of Conduct page.

Note: If you were approved to be on campus during the Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 semester and have already completed this training and signed the Retriever Community Agreement, if applicable, you do not need to do so again.

Students: Please note that we have continued to update the Addendum to the UMBC Code of Student Conduct as the University makes decisions based on the most up-to-date public health information. We recommend that all students take a moment to review this document prior to the start of the spring semester.

Compliance with Campus Access Requirements

Testing and online symptom tracking are among our most powerful tools for keeping the entire community safe. We will be actively monitoring compliance during the spring semester and enforcing a range of disciplinary measures for individuals who are not in compliance, including loss of access to campus. Residential students must be compliant at move-in; failure to do so will delay your ability to check in to your assigned on-campus residence. You may check your compliance status at any time in your myUMBC profile.

Process for Opting Out of Campus Access

If you receive information on completing these requirements but you believe you no longer need campus access, complete our opt-out process. Students who wish to opt-out of classes should complete this form. Faculty, staff, student workers, and researchers should complete this form.

Once you are removed from the list, you will no longer receive reminders to complete these requirements.
